Educating one child won't change the world – but, for that one child, the world will change forever.
The GOA 2012 team are aiming to try to raise £10,000 to help fund the project. The money will go towards funding materials, furniture, equipment and for the general up-keep of the building. Any money that isn't spent will be left to the charity to help fund the project during the time that we will be away from the build.
In order to help us raise the required total we are planning the following events. Pupils have also been encouraged to carry out their own fund raising in their own time.
Tickets for any of the events below can be bought by contacting either Mr Mistry or Mr Newell at Silcoates School.
Ever fancied yourself as a jockey? If you have but don’t quite fancy getting on a horse then this is the event for you. Experience the excitement of a race meeting without even stepping onto the turf.

Do you fancy yourself as a wine connoisseur? Do you think you know your Shiraz from your Rioja, your Pinot from your Chardonnay. This year's Call My Wine Bluff will see three different people try and convince you that the wine you are drinking is what they are describing. It promises to be an evening of fun and - if not - at least there is a lot of wine on offer! This event will be held in the School Hall.

Are you someone who is always up for a challenge? If so then this might be the biggest challenge you have ever undertaken.
Our aim is to cycle 5,000 miles in two days. This is the distance from Silcoates School to GOA. We are not asking people to do 5,000 miles each, but to do it as a collective unit.
The more people that help out in this challenge the easier it will become!
Could you handle saddle soreness for two days to help out in this mega challenge. If you are interested please see Mr Newell.
Why not test yourself against the best that Silcoates has to offer at the Headmaster's Quiz Night? You can enter the quiz in a minimum team of two people or why not get a table together full of people with specialist areas? It promises to be a exciting evening with a wide range of questions. It will be lots of fun, with a good curry as well. What more could you ask for?
Tickets are £7.50 and include a curry supper. Contact Reception for tickets.
If you are like me and your cellar or attic is full of clutter that you were going to throw away, why not buy a table at our event and try to sell your unwanted items? Tables for the event are priced at £10. However, if you don’t want to buy a table then come along to the sale and try to pick up a bargain or simply have a cup of tea and a cake.
If you would like a table then please contact either Mr Mistry or Mr Newell.
